Laleli Külliyesi is a complex of religious buildings located in the Laleli district of Istanbul, Turkey. The complex was built by the famous Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan during the 16th century.
The main structure of the Laleli Külliyesi is the mosque, which was commissioned by Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and completed in 1558. The mosque has a large dome and two minarets, and its interior is decorated with intricate tile work and calligraphy.
In addition to the mosque, the complex includes a madrasa (Islamic school), a hamam (Turkish bath), a fountain, and a tomb. The madrasa was used for religious education and has a large central courtyard surrounded by classrooms. The hamam was a public bathhouse and features separate sections for men and women.
The Laleli Külliyesi has undergone several renovations and restorations over the years, but much of the original architecture and decoration remains intact. Today, the mosque and other buildings in the complex are open to visitors and continue to serve as important religious and cultural landmarks in Istanbul.
